All training we do here at Blue Ash Dog Training involves the use of tools for management and for training. Many – or even all – of the toys we sell often become valued by the dogs and these can be used as training rewards as well, of course.
If there is any toy or item you would like to purchase, but it is not listed, then please contact me and I will see if I can get it in and give you a price on it. I do not carry crates but will order them for you.

Training is fun when you use a clicker. I-clickers are my personal favourite. They have a quieter click, which some people don’t like, but I assure you, the dog can still hear it. With the button protruding and the ergonomic design that fits in your hand, i-Clickers improve your clicking timing, and can be used in either hand, or even with a foot for hands-free training.

I use both the 10m an the 5m long lines a lot for training. Until a dog has a reliable recall it is not safe to let it off lead and that’s where these lines are very handy. It gives a young dog freedom to run around a bit, but leaves you able to practice your recall training at the same time.

Because it is MUCH easier to use a treat bag than a plastic bag in your pocket. Training is all about delivery treats quickly and effectively, and using a treat bag makes all the difference.

Lasts for ages – even in our harsh NZ sun. I leave our hanging on the line between sessions. Dogs love the tails on them to grab, and they are suprisingly aerodynamic.

Extremely popular with my dogs, and lots of other high energy dogs. The soft rubber flies surprisingly well, and is soft on the dog’s mouth. Most plastic frisbees get a bit beating up with jagged edges, but the rubber frisbees stay in tact.
This is good for between flea treatments – whatever treatment you use, in summer it often just doesn’t last as long as it says it does. I use this in between weeks.
This is great on dogs with sensitive skin. It lathers really well and gets all the dirt out too. I love it, and rave about it! The big bar lasts a long time too.
The original WashBar soap, made right here in Whangarei, with all natural ingredients. It’s the only product I will use on any of my dogs now – I have thrown or given away a large box full of dog shampoos.
